LVT – is an amazing product that has been around for years. What has changed is the new technology in the production and the finishes that are applied after production. There are several USA made products that have a finish that would require no wax. Your maintenance would consist of daily cleaning, sweep to remove all dust and debris. Clean with a ph neutral product which is also kind to the environment and depending on the sheen you want buff with a pad until you see the look you’re wanting.
Benefits
LVT is very durable and maintains a comfortable temperature year round. Part of its versatile nature includes protecture from moisture damage, flame resistance and a nice cushioned feel. The characteristics that provide tactile comfort also make it much quieter to walk on.
Variants
There is a new product R-Tek Flooring produced in Ireland. This is a 16” x 16” product that has a puzzle look at the bottom of the floor so when put together you don’t see seams , what you get is perfect grout line appearance. This product can be installed over existing flooring which would eliminate the need to demo existing applications giving you less mess and more productivity in installation and less downtime and disruption to associates and customers. No adhesive needed, however my opinion is if installed in front of coolers and open doorways put a band of adhesive to prevent moisture from collecting under the floor. The reception to all that have seen this has been tremendous. Several different designs each one unique. I love this product and think that the opportunities are endless. It’s mid range in price but well worth it when you can get a remodel completed in record time with minimal disruption. Time is money
